20th SINGAPORE RIVER REGATTA 2002
SINGAPORE DRAGON BOAT ASSOCIATION - SINGAPORE CANCER SOCIETY

In conjunction with the Singapore Dragon Boat Association, the Singapore Cancer Society would be incorporating our fund raising drive during the 20th Singapore River Regatta 2002, which will be held at the Singapore River through sales of booths to interested parties and souvenir items at our fund raising stalls. The funds raised would help to fund our on-going free services to the community, in particular cancer patients. These community services are: Welfare Services, Rehabilitation & Patient Support and Health Education. On the cancer research front, the Singapore Cancer Society is heavily involved in the various areas of cancer control by awarding grants to our local doctors and scientists in support of cancer-related research projects and studies.

One of the highlights of the Regatta would be the Inter-International Business Community (24-crew dragon boat) Category in which participating groups would be competing for the "Dr Wee Kim Wee-Singapore Cancer Society Trophy". This is our tribute to Dr Wee Kim Wee as a former President of Singapore for his great contribution and dedication to our nation when he was in office and also in his capacity as Patron of the Singapore Cancer Society.
