IMPORTANT NOTICE TO ALL TEAM MANAGERS, TEAM
CAPTAINS AND PARTICIPANTS
We would like to remind all Team Managers, Team
Captains and participants that the purpose of having
accreditation is to ensure that every participant
is competing only for the team that they are authorized
to.
It has surfaced that some teams have provided fictitious
information on some of their team members (e.g.
the name provided does not belong to the participant
in the photograph; the participant has already graduated
from the tertiary; the participant does not work
or has resigned from the Organization, etc). By
virtue of having an event ID Tag does not mean that
a falsified registration has been accepted. It is
impossible for the Organizers to be able to recognize
and remember the names of each and every participant.
As SDBA takes a very serious stand on such falsifications,
please note that if at any time a team is found
to be in violation (whether it is before, during
or after the event), the team will be disqualified.
Please help us maintain integrity in the sport so
that we can have an even playing field for everyone.

We would appreciate it if you could check thru your
teams' participation in the events are correct.
If we do not received any reply from your organization
by 12th November 2008, Wednesday we would presume
that your entries are correct.

Announcement 1 (7 Oct 2008)
TO: All SDBA Affiliates & Dragon Boat Communities
:
The Singapore Dragon Boat Association in partnership
with the People's Association, the Civil Service
Club and the Boat Quay Business Association will
jointly organized the 26th Singapore River Regatta
2008. The event will be held on 22nd November 2008
(Saturday) and 23rd November 2008 (Sunday) at the
Singapore River between Elgin Bridge and Cavenagh
Bridge.
The distance of the race is 300 meters.
On behalf of the Singapore Dragon Boat Association
and its co-organizers, we cordially invite you to
form and send your teams to participate in the 26th
Singapore River Regatta 2008.
All participating teams please take note of the
following:
Each team is encouraged to use its
own buoyancy vests and IDBF approved paddles.
All teams must adhere strictly to the submission
dateline that is 31st October 2008, (Friday).
Late entries will be rejected.
As from year 2006 all races organized by
the Singapore Dragon Boat Association will adhere
to the International Dragon Boat Federation
(IBDF) "Rules of Racing" and these have been
uploaded onto our website i.e. sdba.org.sg.
All Team Managers must read through the IDBF
"Disciplinary Code and the Rules of Racing"
thoroughly to familiarize themselves with the
race procedures and the 26th SRR 2008 Entry
Rules to determine which category of events
they can participate in and the number of teams
they are allowed in each event.
